Fashion Show: Showcasing the Muslim Woman’s Dressing
Baytuzzeenah organized in February 2005 (Muharram 18, 1426) an event tagged “An Evening
with the Muslim Woman.” This was a fashion show and cocktail which was strictly a women’s affair. Both
Muslim and
non-Muslim women were in attendance. The event, which was very well attended, with the wife of the Vice President of Nigeria
as Special Guest of Honour – showcased a glimpse of the Muslim Woman’s dressing across the lands and at different occasions;
casual wears, office wears, ethnic wears etc presenting options among a wide spectrum of styles and designs.
The outing which was also towards a campaign for decency and modesty in dressing especially for women
was intended to achieve the following:
The fashion show was interspersed with pep talks on Islamic dressing from role models.
The fulfilling, entertaining and enlightening evening ended with a cocktail and opportunity to network and to buy from
the array of accessories and clothing on display.
